Due to its recent discovery, Nuummite's history is, in a way of speaking, quite limited. This holds true despite the fact that the stone is likely billions of years old. Unsurprisingly, the stone's beauty has caused the stone to soar in popularity.
Crystal System: Orthorhombic
Etymology: From the Nuuk municipality in Greenland where it is found.
Nuumite is a relatively new mineral. It was discovered in the early 1980s, though some claim it was actually discovered as early as 1810. The stone was discovered in Nuuk, a region found in West Greenland. It was recognized to be a great material for jewelry and collection at the time and persists today.
Nuummite has many magical and mystical properties, boosting connections with Earthen energy and the elements.
It may be new, but nuummite already has found its place in the gem world and it does so with style! Many use this stone as it carries the essence of magic and assists them with growth and development.
