The apache tear gemstone is a part of the obsidian family. People often find this stone more appealing than regular obsidian because the apache tear has such an organic presence. The legend of the apache tear stone comes from the Apache tribe. The stones were said to have formed after male members of the Apache tribe were driven off a cliff during battle. The surviving women and elders of the tribe cried over the broken bodies of the dead leaving behind these sorrowful stones. Anyone said to carry an apache tear would never cry again as the stone absorbed their sadness. This gemstone is great for forgiveness whether it's self or with someone else. It is also a stone that promotes introspection and acceptance of difficult situations for adaptation.
