Mica Mineral | Muscovite, Paragonite, Ephesite, Margarite, & Clintonite

Mica Mineral | Muscovite, Paragonite, Ephesite, Margarite, & Clintonite

The Mica Group is defined by its scale-like growth pattern, with group members varying in color depending on mineral inclusion. Mica (also known as Glist) is best known as a sheet silicate and can form large, well-defined slices or cleavages, unique starburst patterns, or glittering shards intergrown with other gems (such as Quartz). Microscopic Mica inclusions (like Fuchsite in Green Aventurine) can impart color changes in other crystals, with some gems requiring the presence of Mica for positive identification. Some well-loved types of Mica are:  Biotite, Lepidolite, Fuchsite, Muscovite, Paragonite, Margarite, and Clintonite, but this is by no means an exhaustive list! The Mica Group is quite large, and is home to a wide spectrum of glittery beauties in varying colors and growth patterns!

Mica is associated with the emanation of positive, protective energies and the illumination of the soul. Mica minerals are exceptionally useful for introspection, inner child healing, and building self acceptance, as they help us to let go of frazzled thoughts and negative emotions.  Mica is a useful gem for the entire Chakral column, keeping us grounded in feelings of stability, peace, and wellbeing through the Root Chakra and then radiating upward to bring us wisdom, personal evolution, and fulfillment through the Crown Chakra. Work with Mica stones when you need to bring alignment and balance to your Chakras, when you want to promote harmony throughout your space, or when you want to engage in crystal healing. Mica group gems are spectacular for cleansing and strengthening the aura as well, providing us with a halo of optimism to fortify us against times of anxiety and stress.
