Carnelian is a gorgeous natural variety of Chalcedony that ranges from pale orange to deep red-brown due to the presence of colloidally dispersed iron oxides within. Sometimes called Carnelian Agate, Cornelian, or Sard, Carnelian stone can be semi-translucent to nearly opaque and may feature banding or flowering resulting in unique patterns.
