Each ounce of our Himalayan Salt features small rough gemstones as well as gem sand, offering a wide range of sizing for many different spiritual uses! Just remember, our Himalayan Salt is not for eating, since it isn't food-grade, so it should only be applied for spiritual and decorative uses.

Himalayan Salt is a well loved crystal when it comes to the domains of spiritual healing, cleansing, and protection. Since Himalayan Salt is often used to promote harmony and healing emotional wounds, it is considered a gem for bringing things back into balance and helping us move past traumas, spiritual blockages, and regrets. Kept throughout the home, Himalayan Salt is believed to assist in reducing stress and letting go of anger or resentment. It is also used as a cleansing crystal for other gemstones and spiritual tools, much in the same fashion as Selenite, although Himalayan Salt is not used to charge other crystals.

Himalayan Salt is a form of Halite, a naturally occurring type of sodium chloride (salt) that can form as salt domes, bedded deposits, or evaporate deposits. Halite crystals can be found in a range of colors from colorless/whitish to yellow, reddish, purple, or even blue, depending on the mineral inclusions found within. Pink Himalayan Salt is among the most well known and beloved of these natural salts, deriving its color from inclusions of iron oxide, among other minerals. However, not all Himalayan Salt has this distinctive pink color, for two reasons:  Firstly, it may not contain the necessary amount of iron oxide. Second, Himalayan Salt's pink color can lighten or lessen with exposure to sunlight.  

Himalayan Salt Care & Safety

Our raw Himalayan Salt crystals are not food-safe and should not be used as seasoning, diffused in drinking water, or otherwise imbibed. They are for spiritual and decorative use only. As a natural salt, Halite is hygroscopic. This means that it can absorb the humidity in the air if kept in a moist environment and may be seen to "sweat." It is also water soluble, so prolonged exposure to water can cause your Himalayan Salt to melt over time.  In order to keep your Halite crystal in the best condition, please store it in a dry area away from metals (as salt can cause rust in some cases).
