Scapolite Meaning and Metaphysical Properties
Scapolite is associated with personal empowerment, growth, and transformation, as it is used to encourage positive cycles in life. It is a wonderful companion stone for anyone trying to break free from stagnation or leave behind bad habits, since its naturally uplifting energies give Scapolite a nurturing, supportive presence full of hope and happiness. Believed to facilitate connections with the divine and to put us in touch with the Higher Self, Scapolite is a crystal for acting with integrity and compassion, leading by example, and creating the positivity we wish to see in the world around us. It is a visionary stone, often associated with the Third Eye Chakra and Crown Chakra, but Scapolite resonates strongly with the Solar Plexus Chakra as well, helping to enhance our willpower and confidence so that we can see our goals and wishes through to their fruition. Working with Scapolite during meditation allows us to recognize and address the spiritual blockages and voids that hold us back, so that we can pursue joy and positive growth, bring balance to our life path, and open ourselves to higher wisdoms.

The Scapolite Group includes such silicate minerals as Marialite (sodium-rich Scapolite), Meonite (calcium-rich Scapolite), Nuttalite (trade name for gray Scapolite with slight chatoyancy), Petschite (violet Scapolite, attributed to Tanzania), Silvialite (sulphate-dominante Scapolite), and Wernerite (now considered to be an obsolete name for an intermediate member of the Meionite-Marialite series). The term "Scapolite" arises from the Greek word for "stick" or "shaft" in reference to the growth pattern of the mineral, which typically occurs as rods within pegmatites and metamorphic rock (often marble), although masses have also been found. Scapolite can occur in numerous colors, ranging from white/colorless to red/pink, orange, yellow, and purple, with some specimens fluorescing under shortwave or longwave UV light.
