Cherry Blossom Flower Agate: Joy in Bloom

Cherry Blossom Agate, also known as Sakura Agate, Pink Flower Agate, Pink Coral Agate, and Petal Pink Chalcedony, is naturally occurring pattern of Agate stone. Known for its orbicular splotches resembling flower blossoms, its appearance can vary widely, and polished pieces sometimes feature beautiful glittery druzy pockets. While its most popular tones are creamy, pale ivory and peach, Flower Agate may feature a variety of natural shades depending on the minerals within. Inclusions of Hornblende or Chlorite, for example, can result in streaks of green or brown, while Hematite may yield reddish-orange or yellowy tones.

What is Flower Agate Good for?

Cherry Blossom Flower Agate is known as a crystal for positive energy, emotional healing, and personal renewal. As a Heart Chakra stone, Flower Agate is associated with mindfulness, gratitude, and accentuating the positive. The meaning of Flower Agate is to stop and smell the flowers, learning to appreciate ourselves, and allowing ourselves to experience joy in all the small ways it may come to us each day. The metaphysical properties of Flower Agate, as much as its beauty, give this stone an uplifting, supportive presence. It is considered a beneficial stone for those experiencing heartache, grief, or difficulty, and sends the message of new beginnings when given as a gift.

Is Flower Agate Water Safe?

Flower Agate typically ranges from a 6 to a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, but we still do not advise long-term submersion for this stone. This is because Flower Agate's beautiful patterns are formed by a variety of mineral inclusions, and without knowledge of the specific minerals in your specimen, as well as their rate of encapsulation, long-term exposure to water could cause softening or damage portions of your Flower Agate. A short dip or wiping with a wet cloth are perfectly fine, but we would be hesitant to endorse prolonged submersion for this gem. A Selenite tile or Full Moonlight are safe ways of spiritually charging and cleansing Flower Agate that will not cause any physical damage to the crystal. Smoke Cleansing with Sage, Incense, or dried herbs is another safe way of removing negative energy that may build up over time.
