Eye Agate Meaning and Metaphysical Properties
Eye Agates are used as a form of spiritual protection and are believed to ward against evil eyes, unwanted attention, psychic attacks, hexes, and energy vampirism. This is partly because Eye Agate stones are associated with cultivating personal power and strength, and partly because they symbolize heightened awareness, allowing us to remain vigilant and steadfast against negative influences and malicious entities. Eye Agates are used in strengthening the aura, building self confidence, and enhancing our sensitivity to the supernatural. This is particularly the case when it comes to prophetic dreaming, interpreting signs, and intuiting the nature of obstacles in our path before they begin to impact us. Since they engage both the Root Chakra and Third Eye Chakra, Eye Agate crystals are beneficial for keeping us grounded in feelings of security as we pursue our spiritual journey.
Sometimes called Third Eye Agate, Shiva Eye Agate, or Agate Eyes, Eye Agates form when an Agate's growth exhibits concentric circles resembling an eye. These portions of stone are then tumbled or carved into a vaulted "almond-like" shape to resemble an eye when viewed from above. Eye Agates may contain multiple types of Chalcedony or Agate within their structure, such as Moss Agate, Carnelian Agate, or Fancy Agate, as well as Black Sardonyx, Red Sardonyx, or even certain types of Jasper, depending on the stone. This results in a wide variety of colors, so that no two Eye Agates are the same!
