Iolite is a naturally blue-grey to blue-violet variety of Cordierite, a brittle silicate mineral that can occur as grains or crystals in igneous rocks, paragneiss, or schist. Although Cordierite can be found in other colors (colorless, yellow-brown, green, etc) it is only the blueish variety that is called "Iolite." Sometimes Iolite may be found intergrown with Sunstone, or with inclusions of Hematite or Goethite that cause intense glittering within the stone. This blend of red-orange or yellow-orange within the Iolite can be quite striking and is sometimes called Sunstone Iolite, Iolite Sunstone, or Iolite and Sunstone. Particularly vibrant specimens with intense flashes from within can be found in Sri Lanka and are referred to as Bloodshot Iolite. 

Product Information:
You will receive one Iolite crystal pendulum.  The tip of the pendulum measures approximately 1 - 1.5 inch long, on a chain measuring approximately 6-7 inches long. Style of chain may vary.

This item is not a necklace or bracelet. The chain does not have a clasp. These crystal pendulums may feature small imperfections (inclusions, dips, spots of texture) since they are made of natural Iolite crystal. Clarity of stone and depth of color vary as pictured.
