Black and White Zebra Jasper is a form of Chalcedony exhibiting splotches or stripes due to mineral impurities such as iron oxides, manganese, or more rarely, soda-hornblende. Like many honorary Jaspers, it shouldn't be surprising that Zebra Jasper is not technically a Jasper at all! Since Zebra Jasper is the most prevalent name for this gem, we use it here to avoid confusion for collectors.
